Welcome to Year 5 - Our Class Rules
We have just been getting used to our new classroom and we have already done some literacy and maths.
We are looking forward to using our class blog and our laptops that we will be seeing soon.
We have just spent some time exploring some class rules with each other. Here is our final set -
>> We will always set an example for younger children in school.
>> We will be careful and responsible when using our class laptops.
>> We will always give our best effort.
>> We will always be respectful of other people’s thoughts and feelings.
>> We will always try to keep our classroom neat and tidy.
>> We will always look after our classroom equipment.
>> We will always be honest and truthful.
>> We will always be kind to our classmates.
This is our set of rules - we hope you have made a similar set in your class. If you have then leave us a comment about them. And let us know what you think of our class rules too?

Hello to Mr Barrett’s Class!
Those look fantastic rules. I’ve made similar with my new Year 6 class today. It was our first day back and it is very different teaching such a small class of 13. They are a really nice bunch from all different parts of the world and I hope to start up a blog pretty soon so it would be great to keep in touch with each other.
Dubai is very hot. Its been in the 40s every day but everywhere is air conditioned and in fact I’m a bit cold sat in my classroom now. From my window I can see the huge indoor ski slope which I went to have a look round last week and behind me is the Burj Arab Hotel (it looks like a sail). Dubai is a great place full of lots of things to see and do although I must say the traffic on the road is crazy and no one is quite sure what anyone is doing. As we’re 3 hours in front of you I’ve finished for the day and I can just imagine you all eating your dinner as I write this. My new school day starts at 8:30 and finishes at 1:45pm at the moment as Ramadan is about to start which is a Holy month of fasting.
Right I’m off to get some work done and then jump into my pool (”,) I hope you are settling into Year 5 and tell Mr G not to mess up my old room too much. If you see any of my old class tell them a big hello from me and I’ll be in touch soon.
Take care and be good. Mr O’B
