Scarborough
June 15, 2007
In March we went to Scarborough on our residential. We looked at the site of Holbeck Hall Hotel, which fell into the sea, in 1993 due to the cliff erosion, and we looked at the various sea defences that have been out in place since to prevent and slow down erosion.
We went on the beach and played loads of games for hours, like football, frisby, flew a kite, rugby, made sandcastles, dug trenches and buried people in sand. Mr O’Brien was brutally attacked by several year 5 children and was buried in sand -how rude! We ended the afternoon playing parachute games.
Our hotel, The Green Gables Hotel, was huge, we went swimming played pool, ping pong, snooker, table football and watched Wallace and Gromit on a big screen tv.
The next day we went back into Scarborough to play in the arcades and then we went to The Deep, an Aquarium in Hull, which was awesome, especially going in the glass elevator and getting really close to sharks.
Overall we had a fab time!
